In July 2019, I was part of the team working in Derby with Mission 24. I met a young man on the street. His name was Youmi. I approached him and explained that God loved him and that Jesus Christ had come to pay his debt of sin. He told me that he was in debt of around £20,000 due to a gambling addiction and asked if Jesus Could help that? I offered to pray for him, and he accepted. I prayed for Him and he opened up some more. As I shared the Gospel with him I could physically see hope rising inside of him and when I asked if he would like to accept Jesus into his life as Lord and Saviour he said Yes! As we were praying, the Holy Spirit came upon him. He started to feel light and said he felt free. He then asked would I come to the betting shop with him, as he wanted to ban himself from there. I was glad to. As we were going, I told him that we overcome the devil with the blood of the Lamb and he had just been washed in the blood and, by the word of our testimony and, to speak his freedom over himself.

We got into the shop and he walked up to the teller and said “Jesus has set me free from Gambling and I want to ban myself from every betting shop”, which he did.

I walked him home and he was astounded and just kept saying “I'm free, this is huge, I'm free.” When we got to his house I was greeted by a dear sister in the Lord who was his wife and had been praying earnestly for him.
